Paul Anderson
Day 1. I am drawn to Paul's diversity in photographs, from a vibrant pink flower to subtle waterscapes and a herd of zebras.
In reading Paul's bio that is online, he is fascinated by patterns - "I have been a summer resident of Northport for over 50 years. The land, the water, the fields, and images of days gone by inspire me. I see patterns everywhere. I hope you do too."
I've included his photo titled Monet Moment. I was drawn to this photo similar to when I saw Monet's painting at the Chicago Art Museum. If you are familiar with Monet's artwork I think you will appreciate this photo.
SHEEN WATKINS
Day 2 of the Northport Photo Exhibit!
Today I'm featuring Sheen Watkins. Sheen's Sundance photo inspired our promotional materials for the Photo Exhibit this year.
I've known Sheen for a few years now and her camera is always close by and off to find the next shot. Her husband, Dave, says she hardly sleeps - up to get the sunset and up late to get the stars.
As I loaded her photos to the online gallery I was captured by her "Lake Michigan Blues" photo.
Robert Bayer
Day 3 of the Northport Photo Exhibit. Today I'm featuring Robert Bayer.
Roberts first choice for photo subjects would be sports. He's had the opportunity to take photos at LPGA in Grand Rapids, ESPN X-Games and several other sporting events in West Michigan. In Northport he's enjoyed taking his camera to school sports events and sharing action shots with the coaches to give to the team.
His second choice is nature photos. He's been pretty lucky to get some great nature photos. Below is Double Trouble that he got this spring.
Tim WADE
Today, Day 4 of the Northport Photo Exhibit, we are featuring Tim Wade
Tim has a wonderful variety of photos in the exhibit, ranging from landscapes to flowers to creative digital and more. This digital creative photo named "Revealed" caught my eye. I like the contrast of the green creeper on the bark.
Then look closely and see what is "Revealed". What is "Revealed" to you when you look closely?
Scott Cain
Day 5 of the Northport Photo Exhibit and sharing Scott Cain's photograph "Fog in the Morning". This is what you can take pictures of when you live on Northport Bay.
Most of his photos in the exhibit are from his view of the Bay and all as beautiful as this one.
Honour Stewart
Day 6 of the Northport Photo Exhibit and we are featuring Honour Stewart.
Honour won Best of Show in our 2019 photo exhibit. Honour has a unique process of photographing plants. I like the contract of the blue and black on the solomons seal and corn lily. She also does greeting cards and the paper has seeds in it. You can plant the cards.
Robert deJonge
Day 7 of the Northport Photo Exhibit. Our feature photographer is Robert DeJonge.
Robert features photos of the Sleeping Bear Dunes area. He has a beautiful book titled The Best of Sleeping Bear.
I was in awe of this photo. We are used to seeing the yellow orange sunsets, but this looks like molten gold, yet calm and serene.
DON SPEZIA
Day 8 of the Northport Photo Exhibit.
Today's feature photographer is Don Spezia. Don's series of photos is unique in that it's colored slide photography that is scanned in and digitally enhanced. They are all black and white or grayscale.
It's amazing the amount of detail in the photos of the tree branches.
Mimi Difrancesca
Northport Photo Exhibit Day 9.
Today we are featuring Mimi DiFrancesca (Heberlein).
Mimi is great using applications for beautiful photo enhancements like this "Star of Bethlehem". She calls it "Sugared".
I have to add another photo to this posting. I love the "Headlight Drama...", it looks endless.
Esther Send
Day 10 of the Northport Photo Exhibit.
Featuring.... Esther Send.
Esther says she always has her camera nearby. She has a way of getting lots of nature pictures - Fawn, Bobcat, Coyote pups and more.
Brian Faulmann
Northport Photo Exhibit - Day 11.
Bryan Fualmann is our feature photographer today.
Bryan has a variety of photos - sailing, mountains and sunset but the vibrancy of this photo caught my eye. Love the blues.
Jay Petersen
It's the 12th day of the Northport Photo Exhibit and we are featuring Jay Petersen.
Jay has been involved with the photo exhibit team since we started three years ago. Thank you Jay!
Talk about being ready with camera at the very right moment. This photo is titled "Frankfort Surf Monsters". It does look like monsters rising from the waves. I think being black & white gives it even more monster impact.
Denise Johnson
The Northport Photo Exhibit is on day 13 and only 4 more days for the online exhibit. Please share this post so more people can see the beautiful photos.
Today we are featuring Denise Johnson. She named this photo "Walk In" and that looks just like what I would want to do. Can you imagine this on your wall? The perspective draws you in to take the plunge.
Marc Nugent
Northport Photo Exhibit Day 14. Today we feature Marc Nugent.
Marc has several photograph in the exhibit that feature a night sky. This one, titled "The Beacon" is one of my favorite photos in the exhibit. I like the simplicity and impact as the lighthouse draws the eye to the sky. Then as you look you beyond the beacons you see all the explosion of stars and the Milkyway.
Karen Jonas
Day 15 of the Northport Photo Exhibit. Only 2 days left.
Today we are featuring Karen Jonas. Karen has a variety of photo subjects in the exhibit. Along with sports photography, she enjoys doing digital art using some of her nature photos like this one "Tulips - Double Exposed #10".
Ann Mcphail
Day 16 of the Northport Photo Exhibit. Tomorrow is the last day.
Today we feature Ann McPhail, she is the last photographer to feature and as I read her bio it is very fitting for all the photography in the exhibit.
"Nature provides endless reminders of the miracles in our physical world, a world in need of our love and protection. My hope is that you see in these photographs some of what you love about our physical world and are inspired to share that love through your art, your words, and your actions". Ann McPhail
Ann's photograph is titled "Bovine Solstice Sunrise". I love the depth in the photo, not only physically but emotionally.
