Beginning Acrylic Painting, June 14, 10am - 4pm

Students will experiment with color mixing, and learn about color theory. They will be able to create a variety of shades using acrylic paints. Eleonora will provide lots of demonstrations on how to start a painting and all the steps needed to finish a painting. Bring a photo of your favorite scene, and by the end of the class, you’ll have a painting to take home.

Students to bring:

Canvas 11” by 14” or any other size
Paper for notes and sketches
Any size water container
Paper towel
Brushes for acrylic painting: small, medium, and large
Painting palette or palette paper
Acrylic paint: white, cadmium yellow, yellow ochre, crimson red, alizarin crimson, violet, sap green, deep green permanent, burnt umber, cobalt blue, ultramarine blue, black or any acrylic set of colors with at least white, black, yellow, red and blue. 

Eleonora has been painting and drawing since childhood. Growing up in Bulgaria, Europe she learned how to draw and paint like the old masters. In the USA she was introduced to contemporary methods and theory and earned her MFA in painting and drawing. Living in Northern Michigan for over 20 years she is drawn to the beauty and serenity of the surroundings.
Eleonora’s work has been shown in the Grand Rapids Art Prize competition since 2013.

​She has been teaching art classes for kids and adults for 25 years at various organizations, including CMU, MMCC, Midland Center for Arts, Crooked Tree Arts Center, Oliver Art Center, NMC extended education, College for Kids, and TCAPS.
